Library Research Support & Services: Request an Article Processing Charge payment

Steps to Gold Open Access for recipients of RCUK grant awards:

* NB: please do not complete publisher's invoicing forms online before contacting us *

  1. Confirm acceptance for publication in a journal (retain correspondence)
  2. Gain authorisation for use of APC funds via your School's lead for research e.g. committee chair or Associate Head (retain correspondence)
  3. Complete the APC payment request form and the library will liaise with publishers and ensure the payment is made [subject to remaining funds] (attach or forward any emailed correspondence)
  4. Release your work to publishers under a CC-BY licence only in order to comply with the terms of your grant
  5. Upon publication, deposit either the published article or a link to it via Elements to PEARL (see guidance)
