Primo Electronic Library - Find books, journals and more

Found an article but don't know if we have FULL TEXT?

Check Primo to see if we have access.

If a journal article:

  1. identify the journal title and type into Primo search box
  2. change the search from Everything to Books, journal titles etc
  3. If we have an e-subscription you will be able to access the journals via the View it tab or title - information will also be given about the years we hold.
  4. If print only information about the years we hold and the shelfmark will be available from the Get it tab

If a conference paper, identify the conference title and follow instructions as for a journal article

Watch the video below (it has sound) and if still unsure contact your Information Specialist for advice.

Found an article but the library HASN'T got access?

Unfortunately the University cannot have a subscription to every journal out there!

However, the library can usually obtain a particular book, journal article or conference proceeding that isn't in our collection from the British Library.  This is called an 'Inter Library Loan' or ILL.

There is currently no charge to you for this service but please bear in mind that it is an expensive service to maintain so please only request items essential to your research.

Requests for material that we have in stock on the shelves or that are in our online collections will not be fulfilled.

*** Please *** check Primo before submitting a request to confirm that the item you request is not in stock.

You can submit an ILL request via Primo:
