Search Primo for ebooks in the same way as for print books.
You cannot search for book chapters - search for the book!
You can search for books by author, title words or subject - but just use 1 author surname (if known) and 2 or 3 words.
DO CHANGE 'Everything' to 'Books, Journal titles etc' before clicking 'Search' BUT use the left hand column options to limit results, e.g.: 'Books'.
Now click the Show Only 'Full Text Online' link in the left-hand column. All results will be for ebooks or ebooks and print.
The 'View it' tab will provide a link to the e-book. (If there is a print copy then 'Get It' will tell you where the book is on the shelves and indicate availability. Note: no 'Get It' = not available in print in the library).
For some books we have more than one edition or version (Primo calls them all 'versions') and you will have to click on the 'versions' link to get a sub-list of the different versions before seeing 'View it' or 'Get It'.
Limited access. Most Library E-books only allow a limited number of users to have access at the same time. If you are unable to access a particular book please wait for 15 minutes or so and try again.
Some books may offer you the opportunity to 'download' a copy for a short period. This is usually limited to a private user space (bookshelf) on the provider's own platform. When prompted create an account on the platform.
Some instructions and help with downloading library ebooks is provided in this article in TIS Self-Help here.
Course provided ebooks.
Any e-books provided by your course cannot be accessed through Primo (unless the library also has purchased that title). To get your e-books you must go the DLE Module Page and follow the links provided. You are strongly advised to download course provided e-books as soon as is reasonably possible - you will lose access in May!
