This is an example of a reference for a book:

Wild, C. (2013). Smith & Keenan's English law text and cases. 17th ed. Pearson. ISBN: 9781408295274.

Clues to understanding:

  • The book title is often in italics.
  • If there is more than one edition of a book there may be a reference to a specific edition (eg: 17th ed = 17th edition).
  • Often, but not always, there is publication information (possibly a place of publication or a publisher or both).
  • Every book title/edition has a unique identification number, the ISBN (International Standard Book Number).

To search for the book - use an author surname and one or two words from the title. Alternatively you could simply search for the the ISBN number.

When searching in Primo,  do change - 'Everything' to 'Books, Journal titles, etc'.
