The Academic Engagement team comprises Information Specialists (librarians) who work in partnership with Faculties, Schools and Programme teams to deliver information services in support of teaching and learning.  Each Information Specialist has responsibility for working with a group of subject areas at both strategic and operational level, reflecting the importance of information as one of the University’s most crucial assets and information literacy as a key attribute for employability in the 21st century.  Information Specialists apply their knowledge and expertise in information management in a wide academic context – selecting and organising material for library collections (both physical and electronic), facilitating the use of information management tools, supporting the development of information literacy skills, and supporting the management of corporate information and University records.
