Create your Endnote Online account via Endnote Desktop in order to sync your library across both versions of Endnote and in order to share your library with others.
Guidance on setting up your Endnote Online account via Endnote Desktop is in our Endnote Desktop guidance.
Students should set up an Endnote Online account via a campus-connected link to Web of Science in order to gain full access to all the referencing styles and storage space for .pdf attachments. NB: do not Google your way to Endnote Online or to Web of Science. Using the route below ensures full access:
Primo > Databases > W > Web of Science
or direct at:
In Web of Science, click the 'Products' menu in the top right of the window and then 'Endnote' to go to a new Endnote Online window to Register for your new account. NB: do not 'sign in' as you do not have an account yet:
Follow the on-screen instructions to register to create your account.
Which email address? We recommend using your personal email address as you will be able to use your Endnote Online account for at least a year after graduating and no longer have access to your UoP email address.
After registering, make sure that you go to your email and look for the validation email to validate your account. You will not be able to progress without doing this. After validating, you will be able to use Endnote Online.
When you have created your account you can now access your new Endnote Online Library a few ways e.g.:
However, you will need to log into your Endnote Online account via Web of Science in order to continue your access for a further 12 months.
[Endnote Online accounts are valid for graduating/leaving students for 12 months after leaving the university following the above instructions to access via the IP connections just before graduating.]
As part of the set up of your Endnote Online account you will want to install Endnote Online into Word so that you can automatically add references to your documents and format references in different styles.
Full details of installing the Plug In can be found in the CWYW section of this guide:
