Artificial Intelligence and Library Skills

JISC have published a report based on interviews with students to get a broad understanding of how they use AI. The report highlights that,

"As AI becomes more embedded in daily life, students and learners are having to navigate both the opportunities and its challenges. Many students are using AI tools to support their studies.  However, some have found that heavy reliance on AI for academic tasks can lead to a perceived (or actual) gradual decline in the quality of their work. Alongside practical experiences, there is growing anxiety among students about the rapid pace of AI developments and their ability to keep up" (Jisc, 2025).
