There are many Open Access sources of peer reviewed journal literature and monograph content available. This guide highlights some of the places to look and tools to use to bring full text .pdf content to your desktop including schemes that have been set up specifically in support of Ukraine.

Resources for Ukraine

Research4Life

Publishers involved in the Research4Life initiative (which provides institutions in low-and middle-income countries with online access to academic content) have agreed to make materials available with no charge direct to universities and other institutions in Ukraine.

Inter-Library Loans

The resource sharing service Rapid IL is making the holdings of the approximately 500 participating research universities in the UK, US, Australia and New Zealand available to Ukrainian institutions. This is an on demand service.

Cloud Source OA

Much of the UK’s research output is now made available open access with global rates of open access also improving. There are free tools to support the discovery of OA resources provided in these pages including Cloud Source OA.

PEARL

PEARL: University of Plymouth's Open Access repository

PEARL is the University of Plymouth's Open Access repository which contains Accepted Manuscripts of published research articles and chapters.  There are also datasets, PhD theses and articles published by students all available to access free of charge.  PEARL also hosts a number of journals which are published by the University as well as the proceedings of any locally held conferences.  Browse the collections to see what is available.
