Standards are codes of best practice containing technical specifications and guidelines. They are used to ensure uniformity and consistency, reliability and safety, and provide a quality benchmark.
We have full text access to all construction related standards and regulations including Eurocodes, via the CIS [ Construction Information Service]
Watch the brief video on accessing and searching CIS
The CIS is a key resource for construction related material - as well as standards you will find the full text of the latest research at Building Research Establishment and much more.
If the standard you need isn't appearing in the CIS please emailinformationspecialists@plymouth.ac.uk giving the full standard number and title. We will endeavour to make it available via British Standards Online.
We have access to RICs isurv -
"isurv is the easiest way to access RICS official guidance online and contains extensive expert practical commentary, legislative guidance, thousands of relevant case summaries and hundreds of ready to use standard letters and forms. Regularly updated, the information is the most up-to-date currently available from the RICS and contains the latest editions of all relevant RICS guidance notes."
The library holds a number of books on specific Eurocodes which give interpretations and explanations of the codes. So if you are new to this type of data a book could be a good starting point.
Just type Eurocode in to Primo to see what books we hold.
