Make use of the public library. It is free, easy to join (in person or online) and a few minutes walk from the campus at the top of Armada Way.

When you have your card you will have free online access to a lot of useful resources, including the Oxford English Dictionary, The Dictionary of National Biography, the British Newspaper Archive (on site use only) and more.
