Frequently Asked Questions

What devices can I use?

You can access Kortext using a PC, laptop, tablet or mobile phone. First you need to download the app.
Click here for the  Kortext Apps System Requirements document.

How do I read my Kortext eBooks offline?

You can download the Kortext App to your personal device(s) and then download your Kortext books from your bookshelf to read offline.  This means that you do not have to go via the DLE or your module site to access or sign in.

Can I bookmark my Kortext eBooks on Moodle/DLE?

No! Do not bookmark Kortext eBooks.  Bookmarking means you completely bypass the login requirements necessary to access content on your module site.  Bookmarks also store 'cookies' which then expire.

I have eBooks on my reading list in Moodle which I can't seem to download to my Bookshelf?

These are probably Library eBooks (on Primo) which you can either read online or download for a limited time. The process for downloading is different and separate from those in the Kortext reading block.

Do staff and students access the books in the same way?

No. If you are a student you need to access via the DLE and click on the books linked to your module
Staff - need to access via the user name and password that will be given to you by Kortext
