What can I do in Scopus?

  • Rank results cited highest to lowest (to see which papers are cited the most by other papers)
  • See which authors are publishing the most on this topic (may indicate they are the key experts in this field)
  • Limit results to your subject (particularly useful for applied topics)
  • Limit results to 'review articles' to see other authors' literature reviews (to see examples of critical evaluation of primary studies; plus a long list of primary studies in the references)
  • See a timeline of literature on a topic by clicking 'Analyze results' - useful for topics where a certain phrase was coined; material was invented; or discovery was made and you want to find out when the research began in this area.
