Sharing your EndNote Online Library

​EndNote Online allows you to share groups of references with others who also have an Endnote online account.

  • 'Organise' > 'Manage My Groups'

  • Tick the box of the group you wish to share > click 'Manage Sharing'

  • Click 'Start sharing this group'

  • Type in the email address/es of those you want to share the group with – they don’t have to be members of the University

  • Choose whether they are to have read only or read & write permissions > click 'Apply'.

Note: attachments are never shared.

Accessing an Endnote Library that has been shared with you

You can view other people's references in your Endnote Library and cite them in your Word documents if they have been shared with you.  View references by:

  • Left hand column menu > 'Groups Shared by Others'.  Click the group name to view the references.

If you would like to be able cite these references when using Microsoft Word:

  1. 'Organise' > 'Others' Groups' from the EndNote menu bar.

  2. Find the group you would like to use, then tick the box against 'Use for Cite While You Write'.
